B&W: out and about on Abbot Kinney

Headed to Venice with TK to check out a new Ansel Adams exhibit at the G2 Gallery, a nature and wildlife photography gallery on Abbot Kinney.
After checking out the gallery, we wandered the streets, popping our heads in and out of antique shops and expensive clothing stores.

Sandstone Peak

low-hanging rolling clouds

Looking West towards the ocean, down on Yerba Buena road. Unfortunately, it was too foggy to see the ocean from my view, but the low-hanging clouds coming in right above my head were quite fantastic.

Solvang, CA and Griffith Observatory

Spontaneous trip north with Ivy&Prizzly, past Santa Barbara, to Solvang, California - a small Danish village filled with pastry and chocolate and windmills and cuckoo clocks.

After an evening at the Cowboy Palace, we did the tourist tour of LA. We drove down Sunset Blvd, Hollywood Blvd, Rodeo Drive, past the Hollywood sign and up into Griffith Park.
Made it just in time for sunset.

Griffith Observatory and a smoggy view of LA

After a lollipop from a local dispensary, the Observatory was truly mind-blowing (and a bit overwhelming). Staring at images of galaxies across the vast expanse of space, I walked outside to see the same view displayed through the city lights of Los Angeles.

Hello, twenty-three

Early morning in LA
As my memory has proven to be inefficient years down the line, I tried to document this February 17th a bit better. I wrote extensively about it in my real-life journal, so I won't go to in depth. Just know that there was lots of sun, good company, a long day at the beach, an amusement park on the pier, and some pancakes involved.

Bay Cities in Venice. World famous, apparently.

ooooh, it's getting serious. shoes comin' off.

Sunset from Venice Beach. Towards the right you can see Malibu extending out, trying to touch the sun.

Overall, it was a pretty lo-key day - hopefully a sign of what the year will bring me (good friends, good food, good beer, and lots of smiles)

a day in Ventura

Hooray! It's finally the weekend. A day to finally breathe and not think about work.
Headed north on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) to Ventura with some lovely coworkers to check out the selection at the Farmer's Market. The day was so warm and lovely, that we popped into several thrift stores and spent much of the day walking the beach.

This is certainly a "Home Sweet Home" I could get used to.
