A selection of pictures from the Badlands

The last picture was taken during a hike through the park. We were told it was a one-mile loop. However, it was actually one way so we not only had to climb up this big scary ladder, we also had to climb back down it. But the view was great and any excuse to look at Adam's butt is a good one XD

Only about half the park is made of high rock outcroppings. The rest of it is big open prairie, with bison and prairie dogs everywhere. I've heard a lot of complaints of the plainness of open land, with no hills in sight, but I've been bewitched by the sky and the endless sea of grass.

We got a lot of pictures of the lil' buggers, and although the three pups huddled on the mound is adorable, the last one is my favorite.
